For this Christmas in July, we went a very non-traditional route with our movie choice and watched “The Apology” on Hulu. Thankfully, we also watched “A Storm for Christmas” and “Die Hard,” two actual Christmas shows. We definitely needed something more jovial after “The Apology”!

Ever since a certain prestige streamer went a bit, shall we say, low-rent, AppleTV+ has soared to the top of our list as our number 1 favorite streaming service. What AppleTV lacks in quantity, it well more than makes up for in quality. And it’s doing its damnedest to catch up in quantity!

For Kelly’s birthday, we’re in a Lone Star state of mind! I mean, not everything is messed up in Texas, right, y’all? We watched a shoot-ton of episodes of “Friday Night Lights” to get fully in the mood.

For the Fourth of July, we decided to watch three takes on one film, part of which happens over July Fourth weekend. We watched the 1962 and 1991 versions of “Cape Fear” and s5 e2 of “The Simpsons”: “Cape Feare.”

Even though this delicious film came out seven months ago, somehow Kelly did not get spoiled on the actual meat of “The Menu.” And, don’t worry, we won’t spoil you here. But we do spoil you in this episode!

We have a slew of questions we’d love to ask Pope Francis. Sadly, we did not get the opportunity. But a lucky group of Spanish-speaking young people did in the Hulu documentary “The Pope Answers.”

Today we celebrate the powerful life of the fabulous Tina Turner. Better than all the rest! Really, what else is there to say about Tina? We have not just a bit more, as does the documentary “Tina” (2021, on Max) that we watched for this episode.

It’s been a minute, but we’re finally discussing the season/series(?) finale of Apple TV+’s “Ted Lasso.” Is it really the end? Will there be a spinoff? Maybe a continuation?

Susan sat this one out since Cort and Kelly are discussing a biopic. We’re chatting about the movie “Air,” about the creation of the Air Jordan shoe and signing Michael Jordan to the fledgling Nike basketball division.

This week, the Geek Girls discuss two series finales and one season finale. It’s the end of HBO’s “Succession” and “Barry” and the season-2 end of Showtime’s “Yellowjackets.”

This week, the Geek Girls discuss the wonderful documentary “Love to You, Donna Summer,” co-directed by Donna Summer’s daughter Brooklyn Sudano and Roger Ross Williams (first Black man to win an Oscar for Best Director—short film “Music by Prudence”).

Apple TV+ is quickly becoming our favorite streaming service… especially as original favorite HBO Max transitions into Max. (Sigh.) Today Cort and Kelly are chatting about the excellent new series “Silo,” based on the books by Hugh Howey.
