GGS 12.04: Cort’s Spooktacular Picks

spooky basement with door open in the back and stairs leading up

For her birthday, Cort got to pick this week’s homework. Given her love of all-things-spooky, you can’t be surprised that we got a horror film (“Barbarian” on HBO Max) and a supernatural series (“The Girl in the Mirror” on Netflix).

This episode is spoilerific! Like, blow-by-blow, slash-by-slash. So, if you want to know the stories of this film and show and don’t want to get spooked, then listening to this episode might be a good idea!

No details here, but we loved ‘em both. We chat about all the things we hope we would have done differently in “Barbarian.” “Would you have gone in?” “When would you have left?”

For “The Girl in the Mirror,” we discuss whether or when we suspected… the thing. No, not “The Thing” with Kurt Russell. The “thing” that happens in this show. Well, one of the things!

Let us know what you think of this movie and show!

Next week, it’s another One and Done with “The Tick” (9 episodes, live-action, with Patrick Warburton).
