GGS 11.35 One & Done 7: Mad Dogs

The podcast where we talk about 3 kinds of bears! One & done 7 = mad dogs. GGS 11.35

This week, the Geek Girls (and guy) take a trip to Belize… but not that kind! (Yes, Saul Goodman returns on July 11th, but that’s another podcast!) We’re back on our monthly One-and-Done theme with Amazon Prime’s “Mad Dog’s” (U.S.).

“Mad Dogs” is a tropical, murder-y, adventure, comedy-of-errors, men-menning, buddy movie featuring Ben Chaplin, Michael Imperioli, Romany Malco, Steve Zahn, and Billy Zane. Oh, and a dude in a cat head…

Which is perfect timing because Anthrocon—or, the Furry Convention—was happening in Pittsburgh this past weekend. So, he would have fit right in. Except for his gun. That would not have fit in because Anthrocon is awesome, and his gun is not.

Of course, we also chat about some politics because how can we not right now?

We discuss Black men in horror films and how everything changed with “Deep Blue Sea.” And, speaking of horror, we “debate” the excellence of the screenwriting in “Hostel.”

In honor of Kelly’s birthday, she’s picking next week’s theme: Justice is served… because right now it ain’t. We’ll be watching “The Innocence Files” (Netflix), “My Cousin Vinny” (HBO Max), and “The Rainmaker” (HBO Max).
