Hot Vampire Summer Part 3: What We Do in the Shadows

“Bela’s undead!” Oops, wrong reference. “You’re dead, you’re dead, you’re dead! Stay dead, stay dead, stay dead!” That’s better.

So, what do you do in the shadows? That’s what we’re discussing this week for part 3 of Hot Vampire Summer: “What We Do in the Shadows” (Hulu).

In this fabulous mockumentary series, created by Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi, we follow four vampires who live together with their familiar (Guillermo). Three of the vampires are the “proper” blood-sucking kind (Nandor, Nadja, and Laszlo), while the fourth is of the energy-sucking kind (Colin Robinson).

Note that we are not dealing with worldly, uber-rich vamps—or even steamy Nordic vamps living in Louisiana. No, no. These ones can’t pronounce VCR and don’t know what the Internet is. We’re not sure how they pay their bills since it doesn’t appear that they absconded with any victim’s property or made any wise investments.

Spoilery? Well, that’s all Cort and Kelly know from the first two seasons of a show that’s ending its fourth season. So, we’ll give no further details! Just watch it! And listen only if you’re caught up to episode 1 of season 3!

Next week we’re back to our 7 Deadly Sins theme with Sloth. No, not the adorable animal! And who decided that sloth was a sin? A little laziness on occasion is okay on our podcast! We’ll be back next week with “Wall-E.”
