GGS 11.31 Guilty Pleasures

Grab your popcorn and settle in as Geek Girl Soup gets extra messy with a deep dive into our favorite guilty pleasures. One person’s trash tv is certainly another’s treasure trove of good times. Amelia and Susan breakdown the list of shows they’ve been watching. 

While Geek Girl Kelly was not available for comment, the rest of the girls dished on “FBoy Island” (HBOMax), “Love Island”(Hulu), the “90 Day Fiance” franchise, and their shared aversion to all things “Bachelor Nation”. 

Cort talks about her family’s long tradition of watching Daytime Soaps. She also shared her recent binge of an old favorite guilty pleasure, “Gossip Girl” (HBOMax). There was a fair amount of swooning and quite a few guilty feelings and talk of separating art from the artist. Reality TV has come a long way over the decades and stretched out into a lot of different avenues. The girls reveal some of their early favorites like “Flavor of Love” (VH1) and “The Real World” (MTV). 

Amelia and Cort share their very different nighttime rituals. Who among us doesn’t like falling asleep to the sounds of hell or a slasher movie? Well, Susan and maybe Kelly. We’ll have to check in with the latter when she’s back to talk more 7 Deadly Sins. Join us next week as we talk Envy. We’ll be watching “The Talented Mr. Ripley” among other things.
