GGS 11.23 Easter Special: Midnight Mass

This week on Geek Girl Soup, we’re “celebrating” Easter with Netflix’s “Midnight Mass.” Spoilers abound in the episode as we discuss what happens to a sleepy island community when a mysterious, charismatic young priest takes over the church when the beloved much-older monsignor takes a sick leave.
Susan and Cort watched “Midnight Mass” this week for second or third time, while Kelly watched for the first time, surprisingly not having been spoiled. Expecting one obvious trope (come on—they’re Catholic!), she was pleasantly shocked to discover a rather un-Catholic theme going on.
“Midnight Mass” is Susan’s favorite show of 2021. It features some of the cast and filmmakers of “The Haunting of Hill House” and “The Haunting of Bly Manor.” You’ll see an old Henry Thomas, a bunch of cats, and an “angel.” Perfect Easter fare! No bunnies or eggs though. Sorry!
Thanks for listening!
