GGS 11.12 Sundance Film Festival, Part 1
This week at Geek Girl Soup, we’re discussing what we’ve watched so far at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival. Due to Covid-19 (don’t you just hate that phrase?!), the festival ended up going all online this year. Yay for us. Boo for in-person festival-goers who had already bought tickets—and flights and hotel rooms, etc.
So far, we’ve really enjoyed everything we’ve seen. We just give highlights in this podcast—no spoilers. Okay, we “spoil” one documentary because can you really spoil what’s already happened in real life? I guess if you didn’t already know about it, which I (Kelly) didn’t. But the doc actually gives away the ending at the beginning. So, it’s no big surprise!
We’ve read that a few bidding wars have been taking place over a few films at Sundance. So, you can expect to see some of these films this year. We hope you’ll get to see all of them.
Here is what we discuss:
Feature films
“Fire of Love”
“Master”
“Emergency”
Short Films
“Appendage”
“Shark”
“Short Term 12”
“Meal on the Plate”
“Sub 11 Seconds”
“Training Wheels”
