GGS 11.08 The Matrix Resurrections
It’s Matrix Week!!!! This week at Geek Girl Soup, we go down several Matrix-Universe rabbit holes with special guest Camille (aka, Kelly’s daughter).
We jump right in with a very spoiler-y discussion about the latest post-trilogy film: “The Matrix Resurrections.” It’s in theaters and on HBO Max. “Resurrections” totally makes up for the “not-as-good-ness” of “Reloaded” and “Revolutions.” So, check it out if you haven’t yet. We three loved it!
We also did a complete rewatch of the original trilogy—“The Matrix,” “The Matrix Reloaded,” and “The Matrix Revolutions”—and “Animatrix,” all on HBO Max. Oh, and you can’t forget “Catrix.” (Do stay/watch “Resurrections” until the very, very end of the full credits. The very, very end. When the screen goes dark.)
Next week, we inaugurate a new monthly podcast theme for 2022: “One & Done.” Every month, we’ll be watching a “series” that was intended to have multiple seasons but got unceremoniously canceled after the first season. Sigh. We’re starting with the series that, in of our minds anyway, is the classic one and done: “My So-Called Life.” It’s available on Hulu. The show is really excellent. Claire Danes and Jordan Cata… I mean, Jared Leto. So confusing!
